老人/耆英/高齢問題的有用句子:

 

一般情況

1.          With the advancement of medicine, people generally have a longer lifespan and the elderly, which is often taken to mean people aged over 65, makes up an increasing portion of the population.

2.          Today's Hongkongers have fewer children than their parents did, and the ageing population problem (人口老化問題)may weigh heavily on us (給我們帶來很大壓力)in about 20 years/in the near future.

閒話一句

15條是曾特狗施政報告 (policy address) 的撮寫,有沒有留意一些官腔?例如,政府不再說「老人院」(old people’s home),改說「護老院」(nursing home)或安老院舍(home for the elderly),但重點是老人入住的輪候時間,在曾特狗的施政報告中沒有提及任何縮短,很多老人等到走了還未等到宿位。
